For Labor members, state and federal conferences determine the ALP’s policy. It is important to make your voice heard and ensure that Labor policy at all levels reflects a sane and balanced position on Israel.

Two State Solution
The Branch moves that state and federal conference
Supports a just and enduring two state solution negotiated between Israelis and Palestinians as part of a peace process. Israel must have secure and defensible borders alongside a viable Palestinian state that accepts Israels existence and renounces violence.
The horrific invasion and massacre of Israelis and attempted genocide perpetrated by HAMAS on October 7 2023 launched from Gaza, the subsequent refusals to agree to a cease fire, the barbaric murder of women, children and the elderly including the use of rape and sexual assault make it clear HAMAS can have no role in any future Palestinian state.
Hundreds of Israeli hostages remain in captivity. The taking of hostages is a war crime being perpetrated by HAMAS. All hostages must be released immediately in order for there to be a cease fire.
